About the service

Open Records Request helps people use the open records laws that already exist. We draft requests under the Colorado Open Records Act and the federal Freedom of Information Act, file them with the right custodian, track the statutory clock, and help with the next step when an agency says no or simply does not answer. This website publishes information about that work and accepts enquiries. Request drafting, Filing and delivery, Deadline tracking, Appeal and escalation guidance, Redaction review notes, Request log research.

No transactions on this website

This website does not sell goods or services and does not accept payment of any kind. Nothing on the site is an offer capable of acceptance by payment, and no contract is formed by reading, contacting or corresponding with us. Any engagement is agreed separately in writing.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding agreement to use this site on behalf of yourself or an organisation you are authorised to represent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting; interfere with its operation; scrape it at a rate that harms service to others; submit unlawful, defamatory or malicious content through the contact form; or use the site to infringe anyone's rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts sitting in Colorado.
